Happy Buddy Grooming Service Agreement

Welcome to Happy Buddy Grooming! We’re excited to care for your pet and want to ensure a safe, positive experience for everyone. Please take a moment to review our service agreement, which outlines the terms and conditions of our grooming services.

By submitting a new client request, you agree to the following:

1. Your Pet’s Safety and Well-being

  • Vaccinations: All pets must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccination. Proof of vaccination is required before services can be provided.

  • Health Check: Pets should wait 48 hours after vaccinations before grooming to avoid soreness or allergic reactions.

  • Puppies/Kittens: Pets between 8 weeks and 4 months old may be groomed without vaccinations, provided they are healthy.

2. The Grooming Process

  • Safety Tools: For your pet’s safety and ours, we may use muzzles, collars, slings, or straps if necessary.

  • Behavior Disclosure: Please inform us if your pet has a history of biting, aggression, or anxiety. This helps us provide the best care.

  • Service Stoppage: If your pet becomes overly stressed or uncooperative, we may stop the grooming session. The full grooming fee will still apply.

3. Matted Fur and Shave Downs

  • Matted Fur Policy: Severely matted fur can cause pain, skin irritation, and health issues. We do not perform de-matting or brushing out of mats as it is inhumane, extremely stressful, and traumatic for the dog and its skin. This practice can also cause your pet to hate the grooming experience.

  • Shave Downs: If your pet’s coat is matted, we will shave it down to ensure their comfort and safety. This is the most humane and stress-free option for your pet.

  • Aesthetic Preferences: If you prefer to have mats brushed out for aesthetic reasons, you must seek those services elsewhere. Our priority is your pet’s well-being, not personal preferences that may harm them.

  • Colorado PACFA Compliance: We follow state regulations to ensure your pet’s health and safety during grooming.

4. Pick-up Times and Late Fees

  • Pick-up Notification: We’ll notify you via text/call when your pet is ready for pick-up.

  • On-time Pick-up: Please pick up your pet within 30 minutes of notification.

  • Late Fees: A $15 late fee will be charged every 30 minutes you are late.

  • Abandoned Pets: If your pet is not picked up by the end of the day, we may consider them abandoned and contact a local shelter or rescue. You will be responsible for all associated fees.

5. Booking and Deposits

  • Appointments: Appointments can be requested online but are confirmed via text or email.

  • Deposit: A $50 deposit per pet is required to secure your appointment. This deposit is non-refundable.

  • Rescheduling: Please give us 48 hours’ notice to reschedule without forfeiting your deposit. Rescheduling more than once requires a new deposit.

6. Cancellations and No-Shows

  • Cancellations: If you cancel more than 48 hours in advance, your deposit can be applied to a future appointment.

  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations within 48 hours will result in the loss of your deposit.

  • No-shows: No-shows will be charged the full grooming fee.

  • Two-Strike Policy: Repeated no-shows may result in termination of services.

7. Your Responsibilities

  • Accurate Information: Please provide accurate details about your pet’s health, behavior, and grooming history.

  • Parasite-Free: Ensure your pet is free of fleas and ticks before their appointment. If parasites are found, additional fees may apply.

8. Payment and Fees

  • Payment Due: Payment is due at the time of pick-up. We accept credit/debit cards, and digital payments.

  • Additional Fees: Extra charges may apply for services like flea/tick treatment or handling aggressive pets.

  • Non-payment: Failure to pay may result in suspended services and collection efforts, including legal fees.

9. Photos and Videos

  • Media Release: We may take photos or videos of your pet for marketing purposes (e.g., social media, ads). Let us know in writing if you prefer otherwise.

10. Liability and Emergencies

  • Liability Waiver: You agree to hold us harmless for any injuries, illnesses, or accidents that occur during grooming, except in cases of gross negligence.

  • Emergency Care: In case of a medical emergency, we will contact you and your vet. If unreachable, we reserve the right to seek emergency care at your expense.

11. General Terms

  • Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason.

  • Agreement Updates: This agreement represents our complete understanding. Any changes must be in writing and agreed upon by both parties.

  • Governing Law: This agreement is governed by Colorado law. Disputes will be resolved through mediation or arbitration.
